Get Taxi

Today I took a taxi to the corner shop – not because I've seen those London Eye adverts and decided I wanted to be 'lavish' but because I've been ill all weekend and my lack of milk situation was the first opportunity I got to test out the new

Get Taxi app I just downloaded on my phone. The app is pretty cool, all you do is download it on your phone, and whenever you want a taxi you click Get Taxi, and you get a taxi, get it? Or maybe I need to explain this in a little more detail. The menu on the app is very simple – you can enter the location you'd like to be picked up from or allow the app to find you on the map. The app then finds your nearest taxi and directs it to you – for me this took 3 minutes. The only thing I was a little confused by was the fact that finding out the cost of the taxi wasn't too easy. I didn't really mind because my ride was only about three minutes long but I am normally the kind of person who calls five different taxi services to make sure I have the best price even though the difference has never been more than £2.

There is a little box where you can write a message to your diver – I thought this was kinda cute, although it's probably there so you can tell him you have lots of bags rather than ask him how his day has been. The best part of the app is that you can watch your taxi approach on a little map, like Blinky, Pink, Inky and Clyde approach Pac Man, but when the taxi arrives it doesn't destroy you it just whisks you off to the corner shop, or whatever….

You can use this code to get £3 off your first ride! promo code: d85ae4a57

Here is a pic of Latka from the not so famous US sitcom Taxi.
